Ofer Asaf

Ph.D. Candidate

Ofer Asaf is a material engineer and designer with a deep interest in the intersection of naturally sourced materials and ecology within the realms of digital design and robotic fabrication. His research focuses on developing a methodology aimed at restoring degraded landscapes using digital fabrication processes of natural materials. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. at the Material Topology Research Lab within the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning.

Previously, Ofer served as a researcher at Shenkar School of Design Engineering and Art. There, he concentrated on advancing sustainable solutions at the Israeli Plastic and Rubber Center, as well as at the Textile Innovation Center – CIRTeX.

Ofer’s academic achievements have been widely recognized. He received the Excellent Teaching Assistant Award from the Technion’s Faculty of Architecture & Town Planning, and the Zeff, Fine and Daniel Scholarship Award from the Technion Graduate School. At Shenkar, his achievements were honored with the Israel Chemicals Scholarship Award and the Florma Scholarship Award from the Faculty of Engineering.
