Roni Hillel

Ph.D. Student

Roni Hillel, an architect and researcher with expertise in innovative construction materials and processes is a current Ph.D. student at the Material Topology Research Lab (MTRL) within the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning. Her research primarily focuses on the exploration and application of local and earth-based materials, leveraging MICP (Microbially Induced Calcite Precipitation) processes and robotic manufacturing techniques.

Roni holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (cum laude) and a Master of Architecture, both from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Her master’s final project was acknowledged for its excellence, receiving nominations for both the Azrieli Foundation Award and the Reiskin Award.

During her studies, she served as the student representative and the former deputy chairman of the Architecture Committee.

Roni’s work integrates her architectural background with a growing interest in sustainable materials and innovative fabrication techniques, aiming to contribute to the field of architecture through her research and application of these materials and methods.
